Tidder's 04 Ponticrap Sunfire *UPDATED 08/27*
*Updated pics down below
Ok, just started on my Sunfire carPC. I've got the lilliput FINALLY... Tested it out and everything is good so far.
So now I've started on the little fab I have to do to get it in the dash. My dash already has a double-din so it's not gonna take much. I'll start posting some pics tonight.
Specs for this PC are the same as the old one except for two changes and an addition.
Pentium 4 2.4ghz (upgraded, yay)
512mb Ram
80gig hdd (upgraded, woohoo)
Jetway weird-*** motherboard
M2-ATX DC to DC PS (def. upgrade from inverter)
GPS thingy
iGuidance (for now)
Geforce MX-440 (whoopadeedoo, I should get something better)
cd-rw/dvd combo slimdrive
Bluetooth usb thinger
Will add soon (hopefully) CentraFuse
And I think I'm gonna do a custom case, dunno yet, need to find some space.
Yay.
****08/27/06 UPDATE****
Pics...
First, the car. It's 11pm and I'm snapping pics... I'm a retard.
The Dash.
The PC. (In xbox case for now, need to find/build a case...)
Screenshots.

Sorry, got pics finally...
The Beginning...

After this one, it was bed time. I'll probably get this done later today.
I'm probably gonna end up using texture spray again, as I really like how it looks. Plus I don't have to get my sanding down smooth and perfect, it just has to be close.

Alright, got it done (i think). Here's more progress pics.
Quick check to see how my sanding is looking.
Looks good so I went ahead and textured it.
Came out pretty nice, though I think I'm gonna go with some flat or semi-gloss paint instead.
Here it is with screen installed.

I need some opinions on it. I think I'll just leave it the shiny black, but what do you guys say? Flat? Semi-gloss?
I use auto paint, and had some brilliant black lyin around. I clear coated as well.

Your fabrication is amazing, I'm not so sure about the paint choice tho... I think if you go textured you really can't go with a high gloss paint. it just degrades the overall look with the shine and the bumps... IMHO. Its really looking good so far, and I'm glad to see you're back in the game after the tRacer died on you.

Yeah, that's what I'm beginning to think too... I think I need to go get some semi-gloss and paint over. I'm gonna go drop it in the car really quick and post a pic of it in place. If I have to paint again, I may get one of the local paint shops to color match my dash.

that would be awesome ... I really thought about doing a color match do my dash when I threw mine in, but then I decided when I redo my center console I would paint it the same as the dash bezel. I am one of the fortunate people with a VERY neutral and forgiving interior I could have gone with some outrageous colors and had it look ok.
