Here I am measuring and cutting the first side panel. The plixiglass cutter from Home Depo worked perfect. It took about 5 mins to make the cut.

These are all the pics I have for now. I'm currently in the middle of constructing the case. The motherboard and the DSATX are mounted with risers. I need to put on the rest of the side panels and figure out how I'm going to attach the lid. This part has taken me a while because I want to make sure all or most of the holes needed for wires, fans, etc are made before the panels are permanently attached. This will make things easier for me in the long run. More updates in the next few days...

Screen Molding Part 1

Figuring out how to make the DVD and Screen Fit.

It doesn't look like it will fit. I don't care its going in. I used Plado to hold the screen frame in place before I used the Perm Putty.

The frame is now in place. Time to build up the Putty Layers.

Screen Molding Part 2

I used some window screen to help with filling the gaps.

The top after some putty Layers.

A behind view. Theres still room to attach the screen.
Name: DSCF1338 (Large).jpg

After some more final putty layers I should be ready for sanding and painting.
I have a question for anyone looking at the exposed frame and the button area.
Should I just leave it? or put a thin layer of putty on before I start sanding?

How are you going to access the screws that hold the back part of the screen in place? it looks like they are all blocked by the new bezel.
I probably would have put the dvd drive somewhere else, and made the screen fit as low in the bezel as possible.

I was thinking of the screws being blocked during the putty process. I have access to the two screws at the bottom and two at the side. If that doesn't hold it properly ill use some tape or find something else. I was thinking of not having the dvd drive at all in the dash to make the screen look more flush. It just seemed nice to have it there as a option for dvd's. I have already installed it to see if it inter feared with the view of my factory LCD on the top. It all seemed to fit.

if you've got most of the screws on the bezel you'll be just fine. I'd have put the DVD drive elsewhere to make it a little nicer, but then it's not in a convenient place.
I've got the space to put the screen, DVD drive, and my pioneer deck (and the vents, hazard/defrost switch, window switches, and HVAC controls.) in my car. But for me it's a matter of finding a replacement bezel, there's a couple on ebay, but I'm not sure I want to pay $80 for a replacement dash bezel.
