Ok, I feel like a schmuck. LOL

I actually thought the CAD in your name was "Computer Aided Design" related, and what a fluke it was that you now had a Cadillac!

I'm a Caddy guy myself, pleased to meet ya'!

I've seen many of your posts and pics, some looked familiar when I went thru the link in your sig. I just never put the 2 together. I was like, ohhhhhhhh, he's the dude with the steering wheel keyboard, etc. I kinda figured you had it all covered, but ya' never know, right?

Where did you race that puppy? I used to run at Island Dragway and Englishtown years ago, both in NJ. We had a 67 Camaro that did mid 10's, and just for the hell of it I also raced in the trophy "stock" class with my (then new-ish) 86 Camaro cus it was about as consistant as you would want a 1/4 mile car. Used to beat Grand Nationals all the time, and then giggle at them putting ice packs on their intercoolers between heats.

Good luck with that car. I figure if I ever get rid of my 98, I'd be looking at an 03-05 DTS myself, so take good notes and lotsa pics, k?

hehe, no problem

I used to run at englishtown too, & ran a few times at island when we did track rentals... that was fun having it all to ourselves

& yeah, I was one of the guys putting ice packs on my intake between rounds too.. friggin tech guys used to give us a hard time though if any water was dripping when coming up to stage

I had a 68 camaro too that this caddy was actually the tow car for... it was all glassed out & lexan, ran mid 9's on motor.. lotta fun back then, camaro's long gone though...

& btw, a lot of guys think turbocad is cad design, that's why I put a caddy wreath in my avitar too, along with the turbo six spinning logo

automerge?: are you still in the area? you should come out to the meets, next one is april 15th at rosevelt field

I raced at Island back in '88-'90, good times! They used to ***** at me for doing burnouts on stock tires, LOL. Whuuuut... it's cus of the water from the Grand Nationals, sir,

I would love to go to the meet, I live in north NJ by Greenwood Lake. That 04/15/07 weekend is out for me unfortunately, but I could catch the next one.

Ya' know, it's pretty nice up here too, maybe a meet in this part of the Garden State this summer is in order? We have some really nice state parks and private settings, just thought I'd toss it out there...

Mike

Ha, that's funny, they used to ***** at me for doing burnouts in the water block with my street tires too, I used to yell back at them not to worry, by the time I'm done there will be NO water in the treads

I ran this car on uniroyal gold stripe royal seals when I was too lazy to jack it up & swap out the slicks, like wends & fri nights... the royal seals are reeeeally sticky & work as good as a set of m&h's belive it or not, I used to air them down to like 15 psi even too, I almost considered even pinning them to my wire wheels, but was afraid of bending the rims, so a little bead slip was ok I guess I was so ****ed when they stopped making them... this car used to do john force style burouts, well.... almost anyways

a jersey meet might work, theres been talk of it before & theres even been one or 2, but the best turnouts so far have been in the queens li area, seems central to many more guys.... I guess well see how it goes... we could suggest one for this summer...

update, well, this install never got very far, I'm replacing it with this, I waited till I have that install well underway before posting it, since my last 2 proposed projects never materialized, that truck will get everything this caddy was gonna get (except an aperiodic enclosure of course)

the same 10.4" tablet is being installed right now & the audio will be done as a phase 2 sometime in the future more than likely I'm considering doing the dbx driverack in it too, too soon to say for sure...
