Thank you. We just fixed the button in the bottom right of the monitor, so the monitor works flawlessly now. We still need to clean up the wires in the glovebox for the computer too and I'll take pictures to post. We are still waiting on the face plate for the drives. We still haven't decided if we want to paint it black like the rest of the dash peice or stain it as wood grain.

Here's the pictures of the computer, with it off. If it was on, you'd see the blue lights. We installed 6, but only 3 work now.. I think one of the cables got caught in the fan. There were 2 parallel cables, each having a series of 3 LED's.

We really need to clean up and organize the wires

Here you can really see how messy the wires are right now

My iPod is currently laying on the passenger side floor mat... haven't decided what to do with it yet

We painted the faceplate for the fan controllor black to match... still waiting on the faceplate for the drives

I installed 3 switches in the holes in the dash so I would have more control over when the computer is on/off. The left switch is a SPDT switch with the center off. The middle and right switches are SPST switches. As you can see, I just put the left switch in the cigarette lighter(disconnected of course). I had to drill the holes bigger for the other two to fit. Here is what they do:

Left Switch - CarPC:
Top - Always On(Key position does not matter)
Middle - Always Off(Key position does not matter)
Bottom - Key Position(Turns on/off with the car)

Middle Switch - Amplifier:
Top - On, but only if the computer is on
Bottom - Off

Right Switch - Subwoofer(Not yet installed):
Top - On, but only if the amplifier is on
Bottom - Off

The faceplate has finally been cut, but it still does not fit perfectly. The holes for the drives need to be cut out a little bigger. Here's how far it is:

The touchscreen part of my lilliput monitor stopped working, so I am now using a touchpad mouse instead. It's a pain when driving, but I'm not going to pay $250 for a new monitor. Mp3car wants $60.00 + Parts + Labor to fix it.

The sound quality was horrible with onboard audio, so I purchased a Silverstone EB-01 DAC. The DAC has tremendously improved the sound quality. I can actually listen without it giving me a headache and hear clarity now. I installed it under the drivers seat and wired it to the amplifier under the passenger seat.

You need to look in the settings for RoadRunner. There is a setting to choose what kind of radio you use. I had the RadioShark v1, so I'm not quite sure if it's compatible with v2 or not, but I don't see why it wouldn't be. Furthermore, I use the DigitalFX skin, which can be found in the RoadRunner Skins forum. I'm not sure if that makes much of a difference either, but it's very compatible with many different setups.

The RadioShark did not get the quality radio reception I wanted in my car, so I took it out and added a headunit with a custom box made out of MDF. Hopefully I can get it looking better somehow.

Updates!

I will no longer be updating the price or components on my system on the main page

Finished dash piece!!!

Added a $15 USB Dynex webcam. Drilled a hole in bumper and license plate. Being held in with a small bracket and 3M double-sided sticky tape. Ran the USB cable through a grommet that was already under the rear seat.

My driveway on the webcam

Polk audio component speakers(6.5" mounted in factory location, tweeters were too deep so they were mounted next to old tweeter location)

Bazooka sub(not done with box yet)

We also finally fixed the touchscreen. The problem was with the touchscreen overlay so we just replaced it with one from a xenarc screen which was just a hair wider. It wouldn't fit the lilliput so we used a razor to trim a little bit off of the tabs inside the lilliput and it now fits perfect. The cutting didn't affect anything. The touch controllor and the rest of the monitor was fine and didn't need replacing.

Thanks. I have not experienced any problems with the web cam yet.. it's an experiment since I basically got it for free. It's worked great so far. I've been thinking about cutting a scrap piece of plexiglass I have left over from the project to fit over my license plate to help protect the web cam though.
