You have to manually open it. But once you have MCE open, you can enable/disable the ability to automatically load into MCE on boot-up, under MCE > Settings. I used this same setting to setup my HTPC box so it will auto-load MCE on boot-up.

hth.

anyone here familiar with how to add additional options to the "stop when possible" drop down list.

to see the list I am talking about:

Green button (when using mce remote) >> Settings >> TV >> Recorder >> Recording defaults >> Stop when possible (4 option in the list)

how do I add additional entries to this list?? Say 10 minutes?? XX minutes.

Thanks in advance!

Closed caption

I have disabled everything I can find on closed captioning and still get it when I play either a dvd in the dvd player or when I copy the dvd to the hard drive and play it there. Any help would be great I'm going crazy trying to figure this out. thanks in advance..

Sounds like you have CC enabled in your dvd application. Exit media center to the regular xp desktop, then run your dvd player program. go through the settings and make sure the captions are turned off.
