I used it a bit all across Europe last summer. Don't know if things have changed or not but Google map/sat coverage sucks over there. WIMGPS worked flawlessly, but was disappointing cause of the Google display. Maybe this has improved, but I doubt it.

Program works like a charm. I used it while driving back to San Diego today. Execpt for the T-Mobile deadspots I got results the whole way back.

If you start IGuidance while running this IGuidance takes control of the gps and whereismygps crashes. Not unexpected but I need to ctrl-alt-del to exit out.

What are your plans for this project? Are you planning a release any time soon?

    Even using a port-splitter such as Xport3?

Nope I haven't put a port-splitter on yet. I have seen people post about them on this forum before.

I had an idea like this. I used Google Maps as well from scratch. What a learning curve for me. The version I use now also makes Google Earth files that can be updated every x minutes or seconds. It also adds a small margin of error so that someone viewing my site wouldn't know EXACTLY where my car was parked. It would also upload an image from my in-car webcam. As soon as it found a WiFi hotspot or otherwise had Internet, bam.. it would upload its balls off. Oh, did I mention it drew a path of where you were the past few minutes? Perhaps I should resurrect it.

OK folks, I went to the US Grand Prix this weekend and WIMGPS tracked fine the whole way. The new changes fixed my problem with the system hanging, but I still have a problem seeing the WIMGPS window if I leave it on the desktop and jump back and forth to RR. I know its a video (driver or memory) problem cause if its minimized while in the background its OK, but if I forget to minimize before switching it all goes grey and none of the text is readable, not the main window, nor the settings boxes.

OBTW, There seems to be something wrong with my main window this weekend, i.e., the problem just started like Thursday after the latest Windows update: After initiating the system, the first line in the main window doesn't seem to execute the linefeed. Thereafter, the system data is no longer displayed in the main window (it used to show each line read/xmitted/status; now nothing), but I know its working.

Leddy, when can we expect "saved routes" to work or am I doing something wrong?
