[edit] About Module Cycling
Streetdeck offers two different ways of cycling through the primary modules. This is meant to be used with keyboard or remote control hotkeys or through binding gestures to the functions. For example, the primary modules for Music, Video, Navigation, Pictures, Etc. will be switched to each time the Cycle Modules function is executed.
There are two modes of module cycling. The first will simply switch to the next or previous module in the primary module list whenever the Cycle Modules or Cycle Modules Reverse functions are executed. The second will display screens shots of all available primary modules in a 3D circular selection mode when the Show Module Switcher function is executed. When the module switcher is shown, using the left, right, up, down, volume up, volume down, page up, and page down functions will cycle the modules through the switcher. To select a module, use the Ok function or use the Show Module Switcher function again.
[edit] Configuring StreetDeck for Module Cycling
By default StreetDeck does not assign the module cycling functions. To bind a keyboard key to one of the module switching functions, goto Settings | General | Input Options | Keyboard scroll down the list to find the 18th item called Cycle Modules Press this list item, then press a key or key combination to bind to it. Choose save and now that keyboard key is saved to the function. To execute the function, press the key and it should switch to the first module in the primary module list. The process is similar for binding the Cycle Modules Reverse and Show Module Switcher functions. The functions can be bound to gestures in a similar fashion tool.
[edit] Changing the Modules in the Primary Module List
By default, the following modules will be cycled through by StreetDeck if they are available.
- CNAVFullScreenModule
- CMusicModule
- CXMRadioModule
- CHDRadioModule
- CFullScreenTVModule
- CVideosModule
- CPicturesModule
- CFullScreenDVDModule
To change the list of modules to cycle through, an ASCII text file called "modulecycle.txt" should be placed in My Documents\StreetDeck. Each line of the file should contain a single module name optionally followed by a tab and -play. Placing -play only operates on certain modules that have associated media managers and when present will cause the module to load the associated media manager and begin playing media from it. For example the line CMusicModule -play will cycle to the music module and load an mp3 from the music queue to beging playing.
