My Thread is a continuous running conversation in the Off Topic section (recently moved to Deep Off Topic) of the mp3car.com forum. Begun by user Scouse Monkey on the 31st of March 2005 to consolidate conversations in one place rather than in posts all over the forum. At MP3Car.com, My Thread is periodically renewed and enumerated when approximately 2500 messages are posted due to the size of the thread slowing down the forum response time. The current My Thread is in its 12th iteration. Posts in My Thread, like all other Off Topic posts, do not increase the post count of members.
Anyone is welcome to join in on My Thread, but the My Thread Mafia insists that all newcomers read every post in every iteration of My Thread before posting. This represents approximately 46,500 posts (80,000 if you include Digital-Car), only a few have managed to complete this monsterous task which shows how well members must be skilled in order to join the My Thread Mafia. In addition, reading or joining in on My Thread requires a sense of humor and one should not be easily offended.

My Thread is responsible for a number of famous forum terms and occurrences including Chumba, Rep club, and the temporary ban of My Thread founder Scouse Monkey.
[edit] The My Thread Mafia
The My Thread Mafia is the main parent group. They stand to fight for freedom, free thinking, liberty, love and against n00b bashing mods through out the forum. Though their numbers are substaintly small they have made a huge impact on the forum and have freed hundreds of opressed members.
The term "My Thread Mafia" was coined by Bugbyte, a moderator on the mp3car.com site, in a note to other moderators describing the tendency of some members of My Thread to mob certain threads that expressed opinions that My Threaders disagreed with or criticism of My Thread or My Thread participants.
[edit] The Frodo Era
During the early era of the thread where the My Thread Mafia members and moderators were on a peaceful standoff. Frodo was a very active member later becoming a moderator him self but still retaining his human emotions, feelings and thoughts. Recently he has vanished and has not been seen or heard from. Some members say since his departure the harmonious stalemate between the My Thread Mafia and the moderators has deteriorated ever since. Most members are eagerly awaiting for his return which they hope will once again strengthen the peace between these two giants.

Chumba is a reference coined up by the My Thread members meaning the act of anal sex between a man and a woman.
Uses of the word as an example include;
- "I had the best chumba last night guys!"
- "Wow! Wish I could give her chumba!"
- "Guys how do I go about giving chumba?"
- "My girlfriend got chumbafied on friday night"
- "Chumba!!!1"

A short period of time where the forum had a reputation function for each member allowing each member to either give a negative or a posistive "rep" to a fellow member. Reps where either given on how good an answer to a reply was or how well a transaction went in the 'For Sale' section and more. Depending on how many "reps" a member got, they would start collecting gold "danglies" underneath their name showing a visual amount of how posistively repped they were.
[edit] The My Thread Mafia during the Rep era a.k.a. "Rep Club"
At the begining and during the Rep era a small subsection of mp3car members deliberately used the newly added "Rep" system for fun. Their crimes against humanity included beefing up each other's rep. The goal was to be the first to get the most "danglies". The one and only rule of RepClub was "Do not talk about RepClub".

Undoubtedly, the My Thread Mafia will continue their revolution against us (the moderators and followers). Frankly, we hope they do. It keeps things interesting around here. It's not a full month unless Motoko gets banned for having an obscene avatar. But really, The My Thread Mafia has not been active for the past month, bringing peace and balance to the force. Now we mods have only the deletion of spam and settling of petty arguments over who got ripped off in the forum or who's not being nice to n00bs. It's not much, but it's a living. We suspect that the group is planning an attack anytime soon, but we will be ready to fight full force.
