anyone, know what to do?
ok ive read the post in the sticky section but i geuss i need some clearing up. I have a CF card and the reader. What i do is
1.) nlite a copy of windows, and get that good and going.
2.)Install WIN XP on normal HD, and setup with drivers for MOBO, progs... main stuff
3.) Use Minlogin and EWF, and Botvis
4.) Format the CF card with FAT partition.
5.) i dont understand the next part with dos. I create a boot up disk from a Floppy drive, then copy those files to the cf card, boot up the cf card and reformat it>>???
6.) Copy win Xp pro using BACKUP Command in Dos and just do H: for directory to copy back entire HD OR do i just open up windows, find the CF card (which is plugged in VIA IDE, and enable hidden folders and just crt A in the entire C folder and paste to teh CF carD?? this is the part im not sure about.
7.) turn off, unplug HD, fast boot?????
anyone, know what to do?
Do you have IDE CF reader or an USB CF reader? Your CF need to be on an IDE channel to be able to boot from it.

i have the MII 12000G From VIA. It has a CF reader built into the Mobo, does anyone know if that works as an IDE?
no, that is not an IDE adapter and is not bootable (well, not normally and not XP).
so i need to buy a like Cf to IDE adapter separatley.? Does the quality matter, or will a cheap one due. Because all IDE are 40 Pin, and its the cable that decides how fast it is (40 or 80 ribbon)?
still want to know if those steps are correct?
