Download all Windows Updates at once?

I've done some Googling but without any luck.

I want to be able to download ALL updates in one shot.

The issue I have is that I don't know which updates I need. I'm not sure how to go about finding out when trying to make a nLite CD...if it's an installed OS it's a no brainer.

All of the searching I've done tells me that you pretty much have to know ahead of time SPECIFICALLY which updates you need/want.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've been using an OLD nLite CD from around 3 years ago. It still works fine, but I'd like to include more updates and change a few things.

you can slipstream xable's SP2 update pack. that's the newest release (January 9, 2008), 26MB.

I heard a rumour that there will be a new service pack released soon from M$

There was autopatcher but it depends if you can still find it.

it's not a rumor, SP3 has been in the works for a while now. but it's still in BETA.

XP with SP2 is very stable. I won't be updating mine at all. SP3 is probably filled with more DRM crap that M$ loves to shove down our throats

I'm a bit confused...it doesn't look like this update INCLUDES SP2, only that it is everything AFTER SP2?

Yeah - there's a beta out there for it. Not so interested in it for the car just yet.

To use the Windows Update website update you are at the mercy of their detection tool and will not be able to get all updates in one go. In fact, some updates must be installed after others, like service pack 1 for the .NET framework must be installed after the .NET framework. I am sure that microsoft could just integrate it all into one update but they wont. You may have to use the hacks mentioned

yeah, that site got slashdotted.... there are other patch slipstreaming packs for nlite though....check nlite's site, there should be links to them. I haven't used any myself so I have no experience with them.
