where can i get more info on win 7 embedded ?
i see that microsoft offers trial downloads of their windows embedded CE but i couldnt find the trial version of win 7 E, i seen a few websites that trial versions are availablle at microsoft.. can anybody direct to where i can find this trial ?
just got my board ... now its time to try a couple different configurations.
i will update this thread with the progress and results.
in the meantime, would be great if anybody can direct me to where i can download the trial win 7 embedded...
personally, i wouldn't recommend win7 embedded. One because its so new, bugs are very likely, and it takes a lot of work to make it work with all your hardware.
look for a nlite version of win7 and it'll perform just as good.
ok i installed windows 7 today, once the system boots its pretty responsive. i didnt like the cold boot times of win7. when i get back home i will try an XP era OS, the 2003 server with nlite configurations. results should be in a matter of a few hours (;
punky, i could not find nlite version of 7. can you direct me ?
2003 server with nlite configuration.
prons: blazing fast, cold boot under 30 secs, i got it to run on 102MB ram, extremely responsive, rock solid system.
cons: after installing all the drivers from zotac, wlan still didnt work, the realtek manager couldnt load, it was missing a file, reinstalling didnt help, graphic drivers didnt work "perfect" either.
summery; with older hardware 2003 server would be my system of choise, its as fast as XP, or even faster, and it is alot more stable.
What board are you using? I have an Intel D945GCLF (Atom 230) board, and the BIOS Post times are awful. I swear it takes ~10 secs for the bios to post.

Does anyone have experience with the Jetway board and it's post times compared to the intel boards?
i have the zotac A-U board, here is my complete review of the product. red the comments below regarding the post time.
