Load fully into windows instead of running something else as your shell.
I want to use a program called Instantsheller http://www.gameex.com/Community/Inst...lingguide.aspx to hide Windows and boot directly to a program called Zenpoint MediaCenter http://www.zenpoint.org/Home . But when I do this my ELO touchscreen does not load the drivers. How would I get this to work (force drivers to load so touchscreen works)?
are you saying that I can't load the drivers unless I go into explorer first ? That defeats what I am attempting to do. There has to be a workaraound.
Yes, that's what I'm saying.
A simple way to find out for certain is to set your shell back to default and load your drivers. If they load with no problem, then you know that the non-standard shell is the cause.
Understand that when you're bypassing explorer.exe for the shell, you're bypassing a lot of Windows functionality, so hardware, software and other aspects of the system may not work properly.
There may be a workaround, but I don't know what it might be.
Good luck to you.
Damn; OK, Plan B. Is it possible to completely hide Explorer while loading and then load to my Zenpoint program ?
how about a plan c?
install zenpoint, and drag a shortcut that points to the zenpoint.exe(or whatever it is called) to the "startup" folder in the start menu, and then hide the desktop, and set the taskbar to auto hide.

I'm googling "hide desktop" but if someone can answer how to do this I'll give it a shot.
right click on a open area, go to "arrange icons by", and unselect "show desktop icons"
it will only allow the background to display--which i did on my own install, and think it looks pretty cool.
on a side note, you can use the same technique to play a prank on your buddies: just save a screen shot of the desktop before hiding the icons, then save tsh screen shot in mspaint, and then set it as the background-- all the icons will be part of the background, and will give you a good laugh while they try to figure out why nothing opens when they click on it...

Thanks soundman98; giving this a try.
It works exactly how I want it to. Thanks.
Now have to tweak the boot screens and project completed.
