Thats the most convoluted way to do something simple. Why not just use something other then tiny7??? WMP is part of the win7 operating system...so if you don't rip it out then you dont have to worry about putting it in.
As of right now it is not possible to install Windows Media Player to Tiny 7 by normal means. Any Media player older than 11 will not be compatible, all others need to be validated in order to install(Genuine Advantage Tool).
Then an Idea hit me...why not install it on a VIRTUAL machine? Now I finally have a REAL use for Virtualbox!
THE PLAN: Install Windows 98SE to a virtual machine(it runs well in a virtual environment and uses little resources from the host, thus enabling me to give it enough ram to really fly). After installation, I'm going to install Windows Media Player 10. Once that is done, using regedit, I plan on changing the user default GUI on the guest OS to Windows Media Player 10.
I have already successfully installed the latest Virtualbox to Tiny 7.
I will let you all Know how it all turned uot on my next post to this thread(stop back by later on today for an update on how things went...I'm sure I will be successful!!!).
