you said winlogon was "reproducing" itself. that sounds like windows file protection to me. the file should be 17KB in size.
hmmm maybe ill import the back up registry file again, how can i do that with out logging on?
well, i warned you that you may hose your system if you weren't careful. try booting up and hitting F8 and select last known good configuration.
does anyone know how to import an exported reg key into the registry from the "windows recovery console" i saved the winlogon key to "c:\winlogon.bak" or "c:\winlogon.reg"
how much quicker are boot times using this method compared to using a "stock" XP build
I will do tomorow when I am back home. And if I get it working first think I do them is measuring boot times "before" and "after" :)Quote:

Big mistake that was. All it does is cause errors. And with minlogon not supporting CTRL+ALT+DEL i can't run regedit to change back. Last known good config doesn't work either. Safe Mode doesn't help.
I will see if the recovery console can help.
Just thought i would let you guys know.
So is there a way to force quit apps with minlogin?Quote:
