    Win XP welcome screen ???

Is there anyway to get rid of or modify the Win XP welcome screen, not the Windows startup screen where is say "Microsoft Windows XP Pro" and has the little bar that scrolls.

i guess then you mean the screen where different users log-on?

here are some instructions on how to get rid of it:

Go to Start -> Run -> and type in rundll32 netplwiz.dll,UsersRunDll and press enter. The User Accounts window will appear.
Make sure your name is highlighted in the User Accounts window and then uncheck the box Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer and then click on Apply. If you did it right, you will get another window asking for the password to use for autologon on your account name. Fill in both password fields, and you're ready to go!

i don't know how to modify this screen.

Actualy I already have autologon. After the first screen appears"the onev with the Windows logo" it is followed by another screen. I have modified the first screen to my likeing and for cAR pc use(Black screen with Mazda6 logo). The other screen that pop up is blue and say "welcome" I would like to modifiy this into black with something other that "welcome" I don't know if this screen is part of the autop login process.

Yeh i was just thinking about how to remove that screen the other day, it gets really annoying cause it seems to be quite unnecesary if youre not logging on

Use TweakUI to copy your wallpaper to the login screen, among other things, get it from microsoft. You go to the Logon section in TweakUI, select Settings and copy whatever you want (animations, colors, font smoothing, keyboards, metrics and fonts, wallpaper, screensaver) from your current user to the login screen

hello every one , im new to this forum and this is my first post but dont worry i wont ask any stupid noob questions and i know where the search button is anyways what you guys need is a program to customize the windows shell (yes even windows can be pimped out )
well i reccommed either aston or window blinds both change the look of the windows shell here are the links where you can download or get information for them
    aston is here

    windowblinds are here
well any ways look around at the windowblinds site theyll have what you need both programs have thousands of skins and they all look diffrent and have difrent shapes to them , plus they use less resources than the windows shell the picture is of aston

what do you think of this bootscreen

or this one , doesnt it tell you something about microsoft?

    thats my 2 cents

Welcome buddy, I could not find any thing to flame you on as part of our "welcome ritual"

So, which program would you recommend as far as 1) resources and 2) ease of use, I like to get up & running fast.

    I love the evil edition

well for the customizing of the windows shell i definetly recommend the aston program it uses less resources ( memory , processor usage) than windows its self plus it kicks
a s s you can use it with smaller resolutions , ive been using aston for a while never had any problems before , the only draw back is that its share ware so you can use it freely for about a month or so , but i just reinstall when that happens , you know to convince my self to buy it ( yeah right) for the boot up screen i reccomend bootskin its freeware

i forgot to mention that aston comes with a utility called shell swapper that allows you to easily swap form windows explorer to the aston shell , but why would you want too?
anyways for those that are running windows 9x or 2000 its definetly makes a difrence in looks , there is also a skin that makes it look like windows xp but there alot of custom ones that are awesome
