Something new. If I enable hibernation and tell it to hibernate when I press my power button(power options), it will hibernate.
So it is getting the ACPI signal. It's not a driver issue. Hibernate works, but for some reasone shutdown does not.
Anyone? This is my last problem and my OS will be complete.

I don't know, but I wonder if this is related to my problem: mine freezes when I try to shut down.
-
Doesn't seem related. Mine doesn't even try to shut down. No freezing or anything. It's as if I never pressed the button.
I read your thread. Yours sounds a little more serious.

OK. I'm definitely using the proper minlogon file now and it still doesn't work.
I'm getting ****ed!!

Is your BIOS set to shutdown after holding the button down for X seconds or just clicking it once? Try holding the button down until it starts shutting down.
-
hmmm mine shuts down. Though it didnt shut down the first time i installed Xp (nLite with minilogon) strange.
-
Bios is set to shut down immediately. But from what I understand that doesn't get respected by Windows. If I hold it down for 4 seconds, it just cuts out. There was no proper shutdown.
-
hmm that's weird. I just did a clean nlite install and replaced winlogon. My system shuts down fine.

Guess that's what I'll have to do as well. I was hoping my 11th OS install attemp would be my last for while. Guess not.

Ok. Fresh nlited XP install. I just swapped winlogon files and added the one Config entry. Shutdown doesn't work. It worked before the swap to minlogon.
I guess there must be something I'm removing in nlite.
Can somebody with a working minlogon acpi system please post their nlite settings file so I can compare?
Thanks
