I'm trying to run this from winxp with my CF as drive E... however I am getting a messagebox error...
If I click ignore I get this:
Is this it? It doesnt seem to be doing anything in the partition....Code:C:\>bootprep /dE BOOTPREP build 807 Microsoft (R) Windows XP Embedded, Copyright (C) 1981-2001 Microsoft Corp. All rights reserved. C:\>

Hey Guys...
OK I seem to have done all the steps... however my carpc still doesnt boot off the CF card.... it says something like "Choose a valid boot device or insert a valid boot media into the selected device"....
weird thing is, on another computer WinXP starts booting from the CF card (although it crashes midway and reboots - but I guess this is cause the hardware is very different)

can you even boot into DOS using the CF card?
did you partition, format, and run bootprep on the same system that you're trying to boot from?
It did boot into MS-DOS, but now isnt doing it anymore.... tomorrow or saturday I will redo the entire process... sorry for these questions and thanks for being so helpful!

Hey Guys.... It seems that for some reason my new CarPC isnt liking the CF card thing... I am unable to do a FDISK when I load the CF card as primary master and boot from CDRom (msdos boot cd)... it says invalid disk or something of the sort...
I am able to fdisk from another computer onto the CF card, however if I do the whole process on another computer I still cant get it to boot off the CF on my CarPC (Asus Pundit mobo)...
Bios recognizes the CF card as a "IDE Hard Disk" and then as "Sandisk xxxx" (model number)... has anyone stumbled across these problems?! it seems that the mobo refuses to boot off the CF, or to allow access to it despite seeing it as a "valid hd in bios".
I'm pulling out my hairs.... dunno what to do!
