Wrong thread or what ? Reply five days later ?
I hope it wasn't me you where after.... sure it wasn't minlogon _only_
but come on, how difficult could it be to download the package, unzip, replace winlogon.exe, import reg-file... done.

there's no quirks man, just some people having problems with WFP. i updated my first post in the original minlogon thread a while ago to reflect the changes (i.e., only one registry value to import).

No 20 pages either... like I said.. Post #4, but now that syfenx's link is online again people can choose anyone they like.

I am expermenting with minlogon with good sucess so far thanks to you guys. I would like to take it a little further and incorporate minlogon and other XPE stuff into an install CD where it is all up and running right after install is finished. I am trying to make a blazing fast windows xp and quick on startup too. I know some about doing this but would need detailed info to acomplish this. I know others would find this info to be of great use. Can anyone help?
all you need to do in order to include minlogon into an nLite install is just modify the hive files in the i386 directory of your CD and add entries for the files that need to be copied over (making sure those files are in the i386 directory when you burn the CD).
You want to use this info:
all the ewf stuff goes into hivesys while the minlogon stuff goes into hivesft file. the file entries are added to the txtsetup.sif file. ewf is configured as disabled so you can boot up your system and make any changes before enabling it. i think it's better to let the system boot up at least once normally before enabling minlogon and ewf. copy the ewf.sys, ewfmgr.exe, ewfntldr, and minlogon.exe files to your I386 directory renaming them as such:Code:HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF","NextInstance",0x00010003,1 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF\0000",,0x00000012 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF\0000","Service",0x00000002,"EWF" HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF\0000","Legacy",0x00010003,1 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF\0000","ConfigFlags",0x00010003,32 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF\0000","Class",0x00000002,"LegacyDriver" HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF\0000","ClassGUID",0x00000002,"{8ECC055D-047F-11D1-A537-0000F8753ED1}" HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF\0000","DeviceDesc",0x00000002,"EWF" HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF\0000","Capabilities",0x00010003,0 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_EWF\0000\Control","ActiveService",0x00000002,"EWF" HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf","ErrorControl",0x00010003,1 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf","Group",0x00000002,"System Bus Extender" HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf","Start",0x00010003,0 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf","Type",0x00010003,1 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf\Parameters\Protected\Volume0","Enabled",0x00010003,0 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf\Parameters\Protected\Volume0","Type",0x00010003,1 HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ewf\Parameters\Protected\Volume0","ArcName",0x00000002,"multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)" HKLM,"SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{71A27CDD-812A-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}","UpperFilters",0x00010000,"EWF" ewf.sys = 100,,,,,,,4,0,0 ewfmgr.exe = 100,,,,,,,2,0,0 HKLM,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon","Config",0x00010001,23 minlogon.exe = 1,,,,,,,2,0,0
ewf.sy_
ewfmgr.ex_
minlogon.ex_
ewfntldr---->delete the current ntldr and replace it with ewfntldr
that should be good enough i think. it's pretty much what i use for my nLite CD's.
Where would I get the files ewf.sy/ewfmgr.ex/ewfntldr I have minlogon already. At one time I just replaced winlogon with a renamed minlogon in the i386 folder and got a blue screen and installation halted at that point. I will try this. The html stuff wher does this go?
Thanks for the files man. It saves me the time of having to go and Download XPe and install and the rest of the crap.
