Isn't 'bitmap 2' just the hibernating scroll bar. I thouth about changing that but I'm not sure it will change the windows logo.
Btw: I don't think they were talking about resourse hacker.
use reshacker to edit the hibernation part "bitmap 2"

If you would have clicked on the link, the free program would be http://www.belchfire.net/~userxp/booteditornew.zip. This is a litte program that is specifically designed to replace the boot logo by adding a different type of switch then what is talked about in the same thread I have referenced already, and where I got the info from the beginning. Click on the link before you tell me what I am talking about. It was a very simple program to use, choose your graphic and click make, and it modifies your ini file for you. I had to choose this process because nothing else would work, and it seems to be because of the M10000 series because others are having the same problem. I have resource hacker, and use it, and will try resource hacker when I get a chance. I never knew where to find the hibernation file on XP. Ill let you know if it worked out or not.

Here is the thread about changing your boot screen.
Simple custom boot screen. no 3rd party software!
Here is the link to the program if you didn't find it in the thread that makes it simple, or if you are having problems making a new boot logo

Round VIII - [IIIIIIIIII] 30% Have some parts for 300zx Sema car I don't own yet. Will have 10.4" & 7" screen, and more then you can believe. Will add updates to cleancustoms.com, will be sweet. My car is still same, but might change.
What about the resume from hibernation screen??
-Jesus- King of Kings Lord of Lords
Check my post in this thread for a link to a very good hands on guide on howto change the bootscreen in the ntoskrnl file, it's not just a matter of changing bitmaps since you have to change the whole palette...
.exe editor?
On my nlite'd system I don't get any shutdown/hibernate window, it's just a black screen, resuming from hibernate isn't that always the dull white stripes with the "resuming windows" text ?
/M
Thats actually what I did, I have a nkstrl (I don't think I spelled that right) in my boot.ini file now. On resuming from hibernation, there is just the white stripe at the bottom. But when you go into hibernation, on XP at least, it shows the same screen as your original boot, but it says hibernating instead. Still working on this, haven't really had time, trying to fix the car where I jacked it up from before, and mount my new mini thumbpad keyboard from eb games, love that freakin thing. Wish it had a tab button though.
Ill probably get to it this weekend. Its kind of hard to work in the car sometimes to test things, I run 2000 on the home machine. Maybe Ill just put a partition on this maching when I get some time to do some tests, but that M10000 seems to do different things.

Kenny

Normally, then yes, but on an nLite system you can disable the "Windows is shutting down" "Windows is saving your settings" "Windows is closing network connections" screens (just one setting for 'em all though) and that also seem to remove the hibernating screen.Originally Posted by clean customs
Not that I mind... I'd rather have a black screen than the "Windows is..." crap, but it would have been cool to have a wreck with smoke coming out from under the hood as your hibenate screen![]()
[EDIT] I take it all back.... now I got the hibernating screen ?! I guess I hace some work to do then![]()
