Customizing the "Resuming Windows" screen

did not work anyway.... still only got the dull white stripes and a f8 option.... no logo

also the threads (post 12) instructions on how to change the string does not work for a SP3 install

I am running XP sp3. I now have a custom hibernating logo, and custom text on hibernation.

You cannot replace the white stripes on resume from hibernation, and there is no logo there to replace. You can replace the text on the resume from hibernation screen, although you have to look for the lines to replace in the hex editor as they are not the same line numbers as in the info in the link.

i tried to search for the strings windows and F8... no luck on either of those

but i got the boot screen and the one when in goes IN TO hybernation, just not when it goes out of hybernation

Try using the find feature in the hex editor and search for troubleshooting. That's what I did, and now have my own custom text in the resumeing form hiberation screen. Are you looking in the right file, it is the c:\NTLDR file that has the resume from hibernate text in it.

got it.... i'm running a danish version so it was not easy

Searched for F8 gave me the stuff under the white stribes

Above i had to search for "Fort" as windows displays "Fortsætter windows" but in ntldr the first word is written as "Forts'tter"

Hi all,

I read all about "Changing the Hibernating Screen" but I don't know how hide the progress bar.
Is diferent that the boot screen and when I delete the Resource 2 of ntoskrnl the color of progress bar changes to yellow.
I tryed to change base palette but no luck.
Please anyone to help to make hibernating screen pure black? (direrent of resuming from hibernate)

EDIT: After my test finally solved. The progress bar color for hibernating screen is in the palette of bmp in resurce 5 of ntoskrnl.exe.
