To second this comment, I've made about 30 different versions w/nlite testing each one throughly for the most stable system. Just take a gander at how long this has taken me ?? 100+ hours

I figure these settings will be a great safe starting point if others can post more findings that would be great !

thanks man works great I just looked at your settings and the new lite has tons of options too, I love my carpc now its fast as @#$#

    But I have one problem.

my sound drivers won't install right I get an error:

    error loading loading streamci

the specified module coudl not be found.

winamp messes up because of this

I believe it is because you didn't have the midi driver checked in nlite

I got the files from my other pc and it works fine now

    .

Didn't try pho-co with my settings. Make sure to download and install this: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Its the .Net redistributal package it will enable applications written in .Net to work properly.

I used your setup file IntellaWorks. I had to do a little cutting and pasting since I used a newer version of nlite and an older build of XP. It works great. Nice and trim and fast. there's only 2 things I'm missing that I need- I have mo msinfo.exe and I lost the icon in the task bar that brings the desktop back when I click on it. Other than that, your settings got me what I wanted without a lot of experimenting. Thanks!

Great to hear some positive feedback, your very welcome. Sorry that you have to cut and paste the settings but the newer version of nLite farks my machine so I just cannot install it right now, there fore cannot post. Maybe you guys could post the equilivent of my settings.ini to the newer version ?

As far as msinfo.exe & desktop ico I have no clue where to begin. Did you slipstream minlogon and ewf into the install ?? If so those guys definatly wont be available.

I'm not even using explorer (the standard windows shell) I'm going to use my front end instead and really if you guys went this far to shave down XP you might as well follow suit and do the same.

If you REALLY need these two things then your prolly gunna have to search for em'. The thing with dealing with nLited OS's is that your doing things to the OS that makes it act completely different and sometimes MSDN and MS support doesn't always apply but still worth a look. But thats where the fun begins. You'd be suprised how much time it could take to figure that stuff out.

I've got too many hours to count invested in this settings.ini...

msinfo isn't a big deal, show desktop I'll figure out but neither is worth a reinstall. My system works great, I like it so much I backed it up on a cd and put it under my pillow. This was part of an upgrade from 2K. My old soundblaster awe64 gold sounds better under XP.

Here's my setup file, there's some extra settings on the end. I just put your setup file next to a setup file made with my os using the lite settings, I cut and pasted the conflicts like the build number and the different names of the setting groups and the extra settings at the end I just used whatever looked good. How did you get that scrollable window? I thought I knew all the code already.....
