I also have that unknow device problem with my usb keyboard, when I connect it to the usb port from mb, it work. But when I connect it through the hub, window sees it as unknow device, it's not the hub, because I try it with other device and it work.

    where is pagefile.sys located?

i tried to search for it and it doesn't find it.. i tried to manually find it through command prompt also

oh and i can't install divx codecs (for dvd playback)

btw... the latest version of nlite won't let me import these settings... so i kinda just used it as a guide

BTW... man this is a great guide.... it really cut down on my boot times and makes my carPC super fast. And I still haven't used minlogon or EWF.... still trying to install my drivers

Try go into the device manager and reinstalling the drivers. Just let windows search for them manually... When I connected my usb keyboard I got an error during driver installation, but I just reinstalled them like that and then it worked :S

This should allow cams and firewire, but since my motherboard is BURNT i cannot try it for my self for another week...

Changed code: It should now also work with removable storage...

ISO file is only .03 M in size?

    Using nLite ver .98.8

Copied Win XP w/SP1 to hard drive.
    Ran nLite
    Found XP
Copied all settings from post #28 into system.ini below nLite\presets directory.
    Clicked Create ISO
Created an ISO that is .03 Meg in size named WinLite.iso

    This cant be right?

    Tips? Tried this many ways...

can someone give me version 99.8 so i can try this?

i currently have 99.9 and it has a bunch of new options and tweaks.

I tried creating my own using the ini as a guide.... everything worked but I cannot install divx codec or player at all. I need this to be able to play my DVD's and 5.1 system.

ISO should be about 150 mb... Try let nLite copy the cd (eg selecting the cd when it asks for windows files)

I'm on my 7th ISO with 99.9 and I still can't figure out what I'm eliminating that causes Hibernation to disappear. Anyone have a list of all Hibernation-related files?

    Display Adapters still installed
    "No Hibernation" is not checked
    16 Bit support still present

When I leave just about everything in for a 400MB ISO, Hibernate works great with Virtual PC (no standby but I think that's because VPC 2004 doesn't support it). I can't figure this out. I do have System Event Notification removed, as well as Uninterruptable Power Supply. Those are the only things I can think of that might be the problem.

I was hoping to fit a 512MB CF card, but it's not looking good.
    In progress: M10000; Travla c134; Xenarc 700TSV; Hitachi 80GB 2.5"; 256MB ULP; M2-ATX; ITPS; Powermate; iKEY SL-88 KB; Holux GM-210; Audiobahn ADD51T w/ COAX/optical converter; Road Runner; iGuidance 2.1

Ill try that and see what happens. Will report back with findings.

Well , I detemined that nLite will copy the files from the Windows XP SP1 cd for you and that it is not needed to "manually" create a directory and copy all of the files into it using Windows explorer. I took the instructions literally the first time and when it said copy the files to a directory I did that and nLite (the program did'nt). Perhaps nLite copies files that Explorer cannot see or list (i.e. system files that are hidden) .

Still working it and will let you know if thats the issue.

Also, Can I use nLite with WinXP Media Center Edition?
