if you run anything in realtime, it'll choke out all the background processes that are needed to run windows and everything will be slow as hell. AboveNormal or High priority is about as far as I'd go

Well probably, even though windows remembers the state it was previously in when it goes into hibernate what if FP crashes ? While your driving you'd still have to re-launch FP. When windows considers FP as your shell and it crashes, it would re-launch the app automatically.

im running road runner as the front end, and whenever i close it to go work on windows, it keeps reloading and its irritating the **** outta me. anyway to turn this 'lovely' feature off?

Wish I had looked over all the settings in CF v1.00 before I tried this little gem.

After a format and re-installation of XP on my carpc.

I'm experiencing some problems when trying to customize the shell.

Problem
When I change the shell to Frodoplayer, it takes from 40-70 sec. for windows to "apply my personal settings"

If I change the shell back to explorer.exe then it takes 1 maybe 2 sec. like it's supposed to.

Can anyone help?

After further examination I have found that it's "C:\windows\system32\wlnotify.dll" it "hangs" on...

Any suggestions???

hi if i want to run Streetdeck as my main shell , how do i make sure it loads the program matchvolume.exe as well to control my volume ? thanks

Hey Guys im thinking of some new niche for a real shell replacement.

LiteStep, its was big in the day before XP and vista, it pretty much replaces explorer in a way with fully customizable features, you could do just about anything you want visually they also have a lot of modules that plug in with the shell which I think would kick *** for a CarPC

The community is small now and probably dwindling down, not much activity and development but I think since that time the mobile industry and carPC’s have come about, I think LiteStep would be a great thing if it was created or modified for carPC environment. Think of full skins not just liminted programs that load and run in a windowed mode, im talking the whole thing, of course XP and even nt as well as win98 hold on to some things, like the file explorer and stuff but over all you can replace the crap looking generic feel of windows with something really unique and carPC friendly as in touch friendly

Ive been working with this along with minlogon and i have come across a few problems. Even without minlogon xport will not autostart and my network map drive will not mount. I have a command in my autoexe.bat for net use to mount my share. It works fine with explorer as the shell but when switched to rr it doesnt work. I tried firedaemon to get xport to run as a service at startup but as soon as it starts it stops. Any suggestion?
