The procedure is the same. You have a black screen probably because you are using a bmp > 150Kb. I use Xp MCE at home and i have already tested.
Hi all,
I'm running Media Center 2005, and I've tried all the FAQs and tutorials I could find, including BootEdit and the hex tutorials mentioned in http://www.iamnotageek.com/a/17-p1.php, http://www.geocities.com/thejjoelc/XPbootcolors.html and others; and I either get a fully black screen with the default progress bar, or I get the default Windows XP logo (i.e. my changes do nothing). Has anybody been able to do it successfully, and if so, is it a different procedure in any way?
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
-pN

Ah-ha - found it. Apparently, one of the colours in the image was wrong: according to Boot Edit, the second colour was the wrong one. Changing it solved it. Woohoo! Now, on to changing the "Loading personal information" screen...
