Ive got nlite with minlogon, as per the safe settings.
It has the basic media player, version 6.4, but wheni download version 10, i run the exe file and it shows its extracting some files and then thats it.
It wont install, can anyone help out? thanks.

Or is there a better program for xp i should use to play video files?
I use winamp to play mp3s but i need something to play videos, winamp is pretty **** at playin videos if you ask me, thanks again.

Have you tried using any of the frontends from these forums?
AMD XP 2600+/512MB RAM/120GB hard drive
    Opus 150W/DVD/GPS/7" Lilliput TS/802.11g/Bluetooth
    Installed.

    -GPSSecure- - GPS Tracking
    -AltTabber2.2.2- - Handy touchscreen utility.

ive read about them but havnt tried any yet, but i dont see the point (*me* ducks the flame)

If it aint broke, dont fix it is my moto.
My windows xp nlite does everything i need it to do, i can view pictures, listen to my mp3s, can install gps software, have mozilla to surf the net when im in range.

I understand the frontends can do the same thing, but it would be impossible to do these things "better" because xp does it all fine.

When im kickin back in the car i can open up a game and start playing, what advantages do the front ends have over these things windows can already do?

Anyways also does anyone know how to get windows media player working, thanks.

Several threads about it here. Here's one related thread.

The better way is to remove both 6.4 and 9 with Nlite, and don't check the keep wmp compatibility box.

Then install media player classic and your codec package of choice.

That's what I'm running and it's working very well on my setup. It does everything wmp10 does with a lot less overhead.

Regarding Winamp, 2.95 full runs so fast and probably does everything you need.

And you should try out Road Runner. You'll see the point pretty quickly.
    In progress: M10000; Travla c134; Xenarc 700TSV; Hitachi 80GB 2.5"; 256MB ULP; M2-ATX; ITPS; Powermate; iKEY SL-88 KB; Holux GM-210; Audiobahn ADD51T w/ COAX/optical converter; Road Runner; iGuidance 2.1

    The frontends are touchscreen friendly.

    Okai kewl, found the options.

Also ill have a look at the front ends, thanks.

Also, if i want to install video codecs like divx, does it matter what options are ticked?
