Windows XP PRO
same stuff on both drives
I have a WD 7200 RPM 20gb and a WD 7200 RPM 30gb. On the 30 gb it takes a good 2 minutes on the same nlited install to hibernate. On my 20 gb it just did it in a couple seconds. I haven't changed anything the hardware is the same expect I am using a different drive. Also resuming from hibernation is much much longer on the 30 vs the 20. Why is this? It almost seems to freeze up before it loads the resume bar up on the 30 gb.
Can using fat32 speed up the boot I am using ntfs currently.
I am really lost but I feel like I am so close
please if someone could help me out here
First thing I would check is the IDE cable. Are you using a rounded cable? Or a 40 wire when you should be using 80? Then I'd make sure it's set up correctly in BIOS. Have you tried a hard drive diagnostic utility?
