    HORM and power cutoff

    Hi,
I'm sorry if this question has already been answered but I couldn't find anything about it.

My CarPC harddisk is NTFS formatted. I'm going to install the EWF service on it and use HORM to create a hibernate file.

My question is: If I writeprotect the system and create a hibernate file for HORM (by hibernating the system)...may I just cut off the power to the CarPC everytime I leave the Car and it will always resume fine when starting the Car ?

I think that this is the whole sense of HORM but I just wanted to make sure. Datacorruption would be a pain in the ***.

will there be any data corruption if you aren't using HORM but EWF is enabled?

no, as long as ewf is enabled your disk will be protected. HORM just makes things more convenient (and possibly quicker) so that you can always resume to the same "state".

Can there be any hardware problem from cutting off the pwer?

    what about the following scenario:

C: - CF card (Ultra II 1gb) (frontend / system)
    D: - 80gb laptop hd (music)

I have music playing from my frontend, and stuff, and I cut off power. Might I get some corruption on D:?

if you're just reading data i don't think the risk is very big.
