Just disable "boot from other devices" under advanced bios feature in the bios. And set first boot to HDD-0, and disable for the rest. I think this will solve the problem.

Ah. Sadly that option isn't in my BIOS. However, hooking the usb device up through a pcmcia card I had lying around that had two usb ports on it fixed the problem.

Hi all,
I also have some problems with my USB Stuff. I have an (Ebay) slimline DVD enclosure for USB. In that i placed a LiteOn SLW-831S Slot-In drive. Most of the time the bios says there ineed is a DVD drive attached, but when it loads Windows, then it won`t initialize correctly. The drive keeps on making sounds and it`s not displayed in My Computer.
This even doesn`t work directly without any hubs or extension cables. When my hub (D-Link DUB-H7) is connected via my Sitecom Active USB Cable, then nothing works normally.
DaveB: What kind of Enclosure have you bought? Any pics?
TN6478: I also have a Commell LV-677, what kind of external hardware you use?
