Why don't you make a Windows boot disk, and then run FDISK and Format that way. Who the heck knows what the windows disc is doing, and when exactly you are stopping it, and what it is doing.

OR, put it in a working windows machine, and format it from the run command, or perhaps from the Windows Explorer screen.

what rev. of tinyXP do you have?

It should make you do the same procedure like on a regular CD, where u pick ur partition and can pick whether to do a quick or regular format

Also after trying to figure out that screenshot...it seems like maybe you didnt set your XP partition to active and it also looks like its a DOS bootup or somthing...if it was a OS loading problem it would say invalid disk, or display a certain file is missing

I never seen a post like that, only in a DOS environment

Take a better pic and also whats ur hardware

I have a HUGE issue with Flash 8 and 9 with TinyXP Rev4. Running flash gauges or a RR flash skin (Freedom 2.1) runs sooooooooo slow... I've tried flash 6-9. Only 8 and 9 makes it super slow.
Whatever changes Macromedia added were big bc the Flash8 and Flash9.ocx files are like 500k bigger than Flash7.ocx.
Anyhow, I tried everything, drivers, etc.. anything i can think of and couldn't fix it.

For now i am stuck with Flash 7. Has anyone tried Rev5 with Flash 8 or above and had performance issues?

yea i have rev 5 and just installed it, seems to work fine but i'm a newbie at using front end software.

need more time to test it out

I also first tried to load everything on to a SD card, but turned out i couldnt boot from it, it odd that during the install , windows loaded the files onto the sd but it just wouldn't boot

Although this thread is somewhat old, it seemed like the best place to ask this. I've got TinyXP running on my fully functional carPC (thanks to all the great info here). But, I can't seem to access the carPC remotely when it's hooked up to my network. I can go from the carPC to my laptop (by typing in the laptop's IP address and entering the laptop's user name and password). I can't seem to do the opposite - I can't type in the carPC's IP address at the laptop and gain access to the carPC. It asks for a user name and password, and I've tried everything I can think of but nothing works.

I have not changed anything on the carPC under "user accounts." The user account for Administrator (the only active account on the carPC) says that I can add a password, but it doesn't indicate that there is a password already set.

Does anyone know how to remotely access a PC set up with TinyXP? Is there a default user name or password that I should be using?

I only ask since this problem makes it difficult to load new videos for my kids onto the carPC.
