Actually, that thread deals with XP remote desktop, which allows you to have keyboard/mouse control over a remote computer. I'm simply trying to gain access to a shared folder on the carPC.

If I'm at the carPC, I can type "//192.168.0.101/" (the IP address of my laptop) and then I get a username/password prompt. I enter the correct username and password, and I have access on my carPC to the shared folders of my laptop.

If I'm at the laptop, I can type "//192.168.0.102" (the IP address of my carPC) and then I get a username/password prompt. I cannot enter any username/password combination to give me access to the carPC's shared folders from my laptop.

This means I can't load new files onto the carPC from my laptop. I actually have to get out the keyboard and mouse and use the carPC to load new files.

Does have a good place I can get this? I really want to download it but no new members are allowed. I searched for torrents but they either had no seeds or were just dead links. Anyone?

I'm running TinyXP Rev. 06 and Roadrunner runs perfect incase anyone was wondering

it would be illegal to download one. The idea is to use your own Licensed copy of Windows and make your own...or try the pm system

What's illegal? You still need a valid cd key don't you? Or do you mean simply downloading from a torrent? All this is, is a skimmed down version so if you already own a copy and download this, you haven't done anything illegal.

I think.

there are several reasons to why it can be illegal.

- you could have gotten the key from a cracksite
- when makin your own Tinyxp you have the option to remove the key prompt.
- Ripping a windows disc and giving it to someone is also illegal.

like I said if u really want tinyxp use the PM system

I have installed TinyXp Beast Edition. Unfortunately I have problems to install the Terratec Cinergy Diversity DT XS (yellow bullet with within a exclamation point) in how much me does not recognize the driver. Perhaps in Beast Edition there is some service not activated that it prevents the correct installation of the peripheral one. Someone of you has never found this type of problem? I would want to try to resolve this problem with some other version of TinyXp. Which it is the best version than TinyXp between rev the 4, rev 5, rev 6 and Beast edition?

@TexasAG - try adding a user and pw - failing that is anything shared on the carPC for access like a FOLDER etc, also make sure no firewalls are stopping you for gaining access like netbui etc - Hope this helps
