Loosing the USB DVD drive

Hi
When I resume from hibernation my external USB DVD drive is gone.

I can get it back if I shot down the PC take the power off and then restart.
But when I resume from hibernation (maybe not the first time) my external USB DVD drive is gone

I have a Mini-ITX VIA M10000 with M1-ATX power supply (OS full Windows XP installation)
I use a external 5 V power supply to the DVD drive

Can any one help me with this problem?

i have a similar problem with the usb dvd drive doing a continuous "usb sound" (the sound when you plug in a usb device). so now i just plug in the drive only when i need it (to watch dvds)
