okey.. i gave up.. need help tinyXP

i need help to install tinyXP

i know.. im a n00b.. i wasnt gonna post it but.. well.. guess i need help..

i did search and tried like 10 days to install tinyXP.. but i still cant

plz dont give me 'search u noob.. blah blah blah..' i tried my best and with my limited basic computer skill.. its not gonna work.. but i want it

    have P3 651MHz 256RAM laptop which had win98 originally

it had XP installed (by my bro long time ago i think) and i tried install tinyXP and its all f***ed up..

i burned tinyxp.iso or winXP.iso to CD and it did boot from CD

half way done.. after reset, i was getting those error msg everytime

    Error:
    Installation failed E:\I386\asms
Error Message: Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)

    Fatal Error:
One of the components that windows needs to continue setup could not be installed.
    Data Error (Cyclic Redundancy Check)

i tried for a week and i finally installed it (just winXP)

booted with win98 booting disk, format harddrive, and winnt.exe in i386 folder

took me a week to install winXP back.. yes.. i did it..!

    now.. tinyXP..

it doesnt have winnt.exe in i386 folder.. so i cant install it with my only solution - run winnt.exe in DOS

whenever i tried it (boot from CD), im getting same error msg

so can someone help me? please...

sounds like you either have a bad burn or your drive doesn't like the disk... If you can transfer the writer that cut the disk over to your new car pc setup for the install....

I tried pretty hard with Tiny XP to get it to work with my CARPC, never was really satisfied. Seemed it was allways lacking a capability I wanted. Anyway long story short, I have found a solution to most of my problems with it.
First get your burned copy of tinyXP, lay it on the floor and begin to smash it with a hammer and when you are done. SMILE, you will feel a lot better and never have to worry about trying to install it again.
    I hope this helps...

The developer has a website and forum. If you search there, you will find that there is a way to make a very specialized version for yourself. Basically, you just edit a long list of windows "parts" to remove those that you DO NOT WANT installed. You then insert a good, full version of XP, and run the guys program, and it creates, and burns the ISO for you. Worked perfectly for me.

you already have xp cds correct? Then all you need is a software called nlite to create your own version of tiny xp.

    Hello everybody,
I had the same problem. Just put a normal xp cd in the drive and reboot.
The setup will restart and the error will not come anymore. Change the cd again to the Tinyxp cd just after one or two minutes after the setup restartet.
Doesnt matter what kind of xp cd you use. I had Tinyxp Rev 06 and used Xp cd service pack 1 German.

    Regards
