Which drivers are you using for the bluetooth dongle? The Widcomm tend to work the best and should definitely give you serial port ability.
ok, i have a motorola v551. i have connected to it using bluetooth a while ago, using phonecontrol to read my address book, call, etc. i had to reinstall that version of windows.
now, i am trying to figure out how i made it work. as i said, i have a v551, and i also have a d-link dbt-120. i know its possible because i have had it work before.
my current status is that when i connect to the phone, the services it offers are dial up whatever, audio gateway, obex push, and obex xfer. i need it to have the bluetooth serial port service to use my phoco like i used to and it keeps telling me my phone doesnt support it. and i know it does!
yesterday, it told me that my phone wasnt capable of the audio gateway, but then i installed the onboard sound drivers, and now it can. i have enabled both the serial port and parallel port thinking they might have to do with it, but no.... any ideas? thanks

my bad, forgot to list, widcomm 5.0.1.1400. and it has worked before with these drivers. i think im just missing something which wont allow my bluetooth to access serial ports. i tried this with two other phones i know are capable of a bluetooth serial port and i get the same problem.
I would assume that U are using windows Xp SP2. and U used XP 1 before.
does sp2 have any sort of a rep for not cooperating bluetooth serial ports? anyone know?
