    i-Bus in BMW Z3

How can I find out if my BMW Z3 (MY1999) has the i-bus system?
I've installed the steering wheels control buttons and I'm trying to find a way to operate my radio-cd player through them.
I'm sure that my Becker (Harman Kardon) radio-cd player is compliant to the i-Bus protocol.

    Please advise.

    It's in there.

Edit: hey,....pssst...MOD.....this thread has it's bus ticket ready for a trip to a more correct subforum.
Yo, VanVIC, each subforum as stickies and rules up at the top, to help you figure out where the best forum to post a question is (i.e. i-bus is not a wireless related protocol).
    hope the artwork helps though.
    It's been a while...

It may well be if he hasn't found the wires to connect his steering wheel buttons to yet

    Thanks for the info.
Regarding the proper subforum, after your advice, I posted in "General Hardware...". I hope this will be fine.

Actually I do have the wires behind the buttons. The point is that I opened this thread in the wrong section by mistake, indeed.

Becker/Harmon Kardon is not third party per se.

They were an option for some BMW's, it should have iBUS

Becker builds many stereos and if it was only special build to BMW I would agree, otherwise Becker uses different protocol.
It should be shown in owner's manual.

The same radio-cd player was used by BMW in the Z3M under the name Harman/Kardon.
Accordingly it understands the i-Bus protocol.
