everything you described is possible as a headset device.. however you cannot use the iphone without the hacks described earlier as a modem
Anyone tried to use their iPhone through phoco, etc?
My iPhone synced automatically to my Mother's Audi Q7 and I could receive calls immediately, as well as scroll through contacts etc.
Someone mentioned the iPhone not being able to connect to anything but a headset, but I'm not sure that is true, since it paired with Audi's OEM carputer/system.
Any updates?

Headset devices can go through your contacts, see recent/missed/dialed calls, etc?
It seemed to interface the exact way that it should with freefone, phoco, etc.
If it worked with the Q7 off the bat without any "hacks", it shouldn't need a hack to work with a CarPC...
Unless I'm retarded, which is highly possible.
(I just don't have my CarPC back up and running at the moment to test this)
it will work with your carpc to see calls.. make calls etc.. but it WONT let you use it for INTERNET on your carpc without the hacks

Thanks for the update! I just misunderstood, sorry about that. Glad to hear that I shouldn't have any troubles then; as I'm not looking to use the internet.
Yep, I've seen headsets with caller id windows on them. Didn't see the point, since most people can't read things on the side of their own head.
Failure is not an option....
It's installed by default on every version of Windows.
Well, I finally got my CarPC up and running.
I got my bluetooth going and drivers installed, and I can connect and pair with my iPhone, BUT, neither the RR or CF software will pick it up. The "Setup" will see the phone, but say that there are no supported services (eventhough windows knows that there are services). Also, the iPhone is not one of the "supported" phones, so I cannot select it for use.
Not sure where to go from here. In the Audi Q7, the phone paired and was fully functional in seconds. With my PC, it will pair, but is then a paperweight...
it won't work....apple has made bluetooth compatible with the ear piece only....
i know, i know...it sucks....holding a little computer like the iphone in your hand with all it's verstatilities and not being able to connect it to the carpc REALLY SUCKS!!! but unfortunately it's a choice apple made when they manufactured the unit...
Now all we can do is wait and pray someone can hack the bluetooth feature and open it to any and all possibilities....
but don't hold your breath
