that's a pretty sweet AP, despite it being only 802.11b. At work we have a handful of them, and they work well. Just be forwarned, there is no web interface on it. You have to first program it via serial, and then you can use a windows app to control it over the network after that...

So is this device like a cheap StompBox (know that the Net4521 is around $180)? enterasys site is really poor when it comes to the AP2000.

not really, all it is is an AP with no onboard radio. You have to insert an enterasys pc card in it to decide what wifi you want to use. It's very odd. Extensible to make it do more that just an AP, maybe, but I haven't tried.

From what I understood, that is exactly what it was, a device to route wifi to 3G or other cellular. Crawdaddy says he uses them at work, so he would know better than I. I have never actually seen one.

After I ordered it, they refunded my money about 5 days later with no explanation. I sent them an email and they said they had sold out and the website did not properly reflect the quantity onhand.
