500mW usb wifi adapter, better than senao

Hi folks. Few weeks ago spoted usb wifi adapter named alfa. Output power is 500mW. Most powerful PCMCIA wifi adaptors i came accross was 300mW. So i have bought it and it performs flawlessly. This adapter thou requires two usb ports to feed it (500mW).

This performed better than my Senao NET EL 2511CD+. Some where i read that this usb adapter is compatible with packet injection in wifi wep cracking

I didn't know why the 500mW was significant. Why can't "regular" adaptors be modified to get 500mW?

It's the radio power. If you overdrive a "normal" radio, you'll either induce a crapload of noise or cook the radio. Most likely both.

so when i pumped up the output of my hyperwrt linksys firmware, it's like turning the 300 to 500?

maybe he means, does it work with certain wireless routers or any wireless router that can run on xp, etc.

could I use this for my linksys wireless router network?
