It doesn't appear to be a regular modem like EVDO. If anything, it is CDMA with data.

Nope.
not possible, there is no modem there.
Even if it's possible, it would be more expensive and time consuming than buying an evdo modem.
dsatx in voompc 2 case <HERE>
You can, however, put those mirror buttons to good use (if not using Onstar) and turn them into a BT control pad for a cel phone that uses the factory mic and speakers.

It doesn't necessarily have to be EVDO there just has to be a way to transfer data and they use Verizon's system so that's why I said EVDO.
I am sure the electronics are there, so the time and money are really a mute issue, I already have an Alltel modem router setup I am more interested in using existing technology.
I did run across the BluStar CoStar systems, I only have one issue and that I must remove the OnStar unit, I am using the GPS from the OnStar so if they had some sort of pass thru that would be ideal.
My whole purpose for this is to think outside the box, to coin a phrase, I was given something and forced to use there stuff, that just doesn't work in my world, if your gonna give me something let me decide how I am going to use it, so there's the challenge, it's there so it can be done it's just above my current skill level.![]()

Lemme toss this in, Altell is now Verizon in my area, I want my digital onstar to be both voice and evdo, the evdo part needs to connect to my KR1 for WAN backhaul, the gps also needs to connect to the KR1 for live postioning I know I'll need some sort of modified fireware for the KR1 all I need is a soldering schematic so I can hook everything up.
