I think there's a setting somewhere that says something like connect to non-preferred networks... I think that would do it.
I'm using a smartphone to supply an internet connection to my CarPC using WMWifiRouter software. This creates an Ad-hoc wifi connection between my phone and the PC.
My question: Is there a way to get windows to connect to an Ad-hoc device automatically? I want to be able to get in my car with my phone, open the app on the phone, then when i click the button in my front end to enable the wifi adapter then automatically connect to my phone without me having to minimize my frontend and go into the wireless networks list and click connect.

Just reverse the steps you see here.

thanks for the response, but i had that set already. I got it to work though...
seems that you can't move an ad-hoc network to the top of your preferred network list, so i just disabled the auto connect on my wifi at home and then it connected to my phone automatically every time. Problem solved!![]()
Ooooh, well you didn't mention anything about another network.![]()
