Thread: Can i use my sprint palm pre for the internet and data connection?

You need to look into a program called "MyTether". The website http://www.mytether.net/

that program looks fine, i just want to tell you right now you'll want to use usb tethering most of the time. its quickest to connect and charges the phone. when i had it in wifi or bluetooth mode i regularly forgot to plug the phone in and would result in a dead battery. not to mention it always takes quite a bit longer to connect wireless. if anyone does happen to want to get online, i tell them i can turn the wifi on but it costs $1. this way i never have to share wifi.

I would do the usb anyways because of those benefits. With the usb connection how is the internet speed etc on the connected computer?


How does that tether program work? Do i donate money in order to download the program etc then or?

im not sure how that one works, i use wmwifirouter for my windows mobile phone. it runs in the background, so anytime i plug itinto a usb port in my car the carpc automatically connects to the internet in less then 10 seconds. speeds are around 700kbs normally, which is like 80KB/sec i think.

not bad. Im considering buying one of the small netbooks like the esus eee, and using my phone as the source for data. Anyone ever used the pre sucesfully?

I donated because it's a lot easier to install.

Not to mention every time Palm updates WebOS the program needs to be updated and the donaters get the updated earlier.

so what do i need to donate then? Like 40 bucks or?

i would think $10-$20 is more average

i love this pre but the navigation never working is really starting to get me ticked, thats why im even considering a computer.
