Illegal antennas

Why isnt there information out there using 1 watt amps with high db antennas? I dont see anybody using them or even talking about it.

There's a limit to the max power output for WiFi (or 802.11b). You can find all about it here:

Max output depends on the gain (there is for example 4W EIRP power limit - gain undependant, but if you have 21dB of gain - real max output can be only 20mW)
