I've been using this ever since I got my A900 (February). Before that, I have been surfing the net with my cell phone with never a charge.

If your phone doesnt have modem NAI then it doesnt report to sprint if it is being used as a modem. If it does you need phone as modem plan, otherwise unlimited vision is fine.

here is the sprint pcs power rules

and accourding it you will be protected for unlimited web and data access as long as you have a power option in your plan

So they are saying if the phone can act as a modem then you cannot have the sprint power visionSM activated for it. So that means no data can be transfered to a computer. Am I correct?

I currently do not have a plan with anybody and I am looking to get a cell phone plan that can let me use data without having to spend $50+/mo (phone) and ANOTHER $40+/mo for data. Is there some work around still out there to use Sprint/Nextel rather cheaply?

I said it like 2 posts ago. You CAN use your phone as a modem with a cheap unlimited sprint plan if the phones firmware doesnt have modem NAI. (NAI is the feature which tells sprint if you are using it as a modem)

I have been using my PPC-6700 as a 100kilobyte/s broadband modem over bluetooth for months, and ive never paid more than the $15 for the basic vision service (tell them to cram it when they say you need to pay for the $25 power vision, you don't need sprint TV and my 6700 doesn't support it anyway)

Thank you for your posts. I'm sorry that you had to repeat yourself...it's just difficult trying to figure out all of the correct verbage such as PAM, NAI, ect when this network is new to me. I think I understand now.

Also take a look at www.sprint.com/sero . (Type in [email protected] to get in, but I think you need an e-mail of a real sprint employee to sign up)
