Yes, you most likely need the MSL. Just call Sprint up and ask for it. If they ask why just say "It's my phone and I'd just like to have it". You could also tell them you plan to sell it soon and want to reset it. They gave it to me on the second try.

I have the sanyo pm-8200 with the sprint vision plan. I bought a usb data cable cord to connect my phone and it came with a drivers cd. The files on the cd open up in notebook, how to I download them. Sprint PCS vision dosen't recgonize my phone, so I assume I need to figure out how to download the drivers.

After I download the drivers, I set up a dial up connection, right? Where will I be able to select the option to use my sprint phone as a modem? What software do I use to set it up as a modem, the drivers?

I have been trying for hours to get this working, and it is so frustrating.

On my computer at home, the computer automatically searches for drivers when I plug something into a usb port. From there I select the location of the drivers and everything works fine. On my laptop, when I plug a usb cable from my phone in, nothing happens. I need to be able to install the drivers for my sanyo 8200 in order to use it as a modem for internet. I have the driver files from the website, but they open up in notebook and I need to find out how to install them.

Everything works fine on my home computer, but my laptop in my car doesn't automatically search for drivers for my sanyo phone. Both computers use Windows XP.

you shouldn't necessarially need the cable to connect your phone to the internet.

You should be able to connect to the net with just the phone.

What kind of phones are you trying to hook up to the internet with. I have a treo 700 and I had to download a third party app to get online which is what your gonna have to do as well. If you do a google search for tethering you could fin some useful information.
