You know what, now that I think about verizon. The qnc thing can't be against the ToS. It is listed as a feature called Quick 2 Net Connect, or QNC. they mention it several time in their faqs http://www.verizonwireless.com/inter...about_mo_svc_1
I have Verizon, it is slow as hell, 14,400. :(
mine shows it's connected at 28,8. there is also a program that it comes with that is supposed to speed up the websurfing and stuff by blocking pictures and compressing text.
What kind of phone do you have? What kind of connection to the PC? Have you tried downloading files to gauge your real speed? It may be time to upgrade my phone, but I'm trying to hold out a little longer for the new Motorola Linux phone. :)Quote:

I just check it, and it appears the motorola mobile software was lying to me. I showed and windowsxp showed a 28.8kbps connection. Dsl reports showed i was getting about 12k a second. so that 14.4 seems right. oh well. it's free right?
Try DUMeter. It'll tell you your download speed and updates 2-3 times a second and very accurate. It even tells you your peak.
i bought a usb cord for my scp5500 with sprintpcs and I downloaded a dialer software that connected my computer to my phone for free. I asked sprint about this and they said it was legal! I just had to be part of vision and it was included. Ill post the software in a bit.
I am using my Sprint phone with the $15.00 per month unlimited wireless web option with a usb cable for my internet access. It works great and I have seen no extra charges show up on my PCS bill yet.
One time I called Sprint and they told me yes, you could do it but it was not supported, another time I was told that if you are using your phone as a modem you need to pay the $80.00 a month for unlimited data access. They claim they can tell the difference between accessing the web from your phone and using the phone as a modem on your computer.
So far I have been using it for 2 months now with the $15.00 per month data plan and I haven't heard a peep from them.
We'll see how long it lasts.
anyone with sprint noticed, that now i am only getting a speed of 28.8, about a month ago i was getting 235 kbps, what is up
