Have you seen on sprintusers.com where sprint is starting to crack down on those who abuse vision in this manner and removing their access?

Yeah. I don't abuse it like some of the other people. E-mail once in a great while maybe weather but not much more than that. I've been reading about the canceling on g3download.com for a while now.

H3ll, I do more than that on my phone as I am always checking email, 1KTV, weather and radar, traffic maps.

makes me wonder if sprint will try and cancel mine...

Do I need the vision package....it's not very expensive. Does it increase bandwidth?

    3G Wireless

    Hi All,

I have been testing the Verizon Wireless EVDO service the last few day. It is actually true 3G with speeds up to 2 Mbps, but is only out in two cities so far. According to a reliable source they are installing it nation wide as of last month. Big cities first of course, then more rural areas will follow. The modems are backwards compatible, so they will do EVDO then also 1xRTT "150kbps" and CDMA "19kbps" in the rural areas.

Locally "NJ" my tests using DSL speed tests show averages of 90kbps download and 65kbps uploads with the 1xRTT service. The ping times are a bit high 350ms average, which hurts if you plan to do any VoIP, Video conf or online gaming from your car... Unlike Sprint they don't place any restrictions on your usage, at least they don't post such rules on their site. $80 a month for the unlimited service, and they have some deal to let you use their Wi-Fi hot spots also but I don't know the details yet.

I have used a CDMA modem from AT&T since 2000 in my laptop, good for chat and Email checking. Compared to that, EVDO and 1xRTT feel like broadband.

Here is some links to more reviews.
