    Synchronizing

Is it possible for a carPC to synch folders of MP3's with the folders on my desktop PC, whenever I drive into range of my Access Point?

I would like the carPC to automatically synchronize my MP3's when I drive the car up front of my house.

Note 1: rsync will only create directories one deep. So in the example above, it would create remote:backupdir/mypc/d if remote:backupdir/mypc already exists, but not if only remote:backupdir exists (i.e. without mypc).

BOSS! I have to leave work now, 'cos I have a scheduled mp3 update waiting in my driveway!

Guess I was too optimistic thinking it could work.... :-(

Why not write a small service for XP to run in your car at all times. What it would do is check whether the connection to your home AP is available, if it is mount the drive and perform the copying needed. You can base it on the Archive attribute of the file or something like that.

Exactly what I was thinking, arkadiyp. Make a script to detect when the home's AP is within range, and execute the program then which should take care of the rest automaticaly.
