im still having issues with mine, still cant actually connect. I have taken a step backwards, now my PC wont correctly negotiate a connection to the phone! *doh!*
I recieved a whole heap of instructions from B mobile, and of course, some of them seem wrong. Alot of information from different sources conflicts. How is a guy suppost to get anything working?
You should head over to www.howardforums.com. I bet they have the info you need.

    I got it
First i was getting it working on my office PC. The problem with that mainly, was the GPRS modem settings, in the PHONE was not on "Internet"
it was on "internet" (lower case) hard to believe yes it makes a difference!

And on the PC in the car, i had major driver hassles, finally got a new driver for the IR dongle, and then the windows connection wouldnt work, but then just for laughs I tried the dodgy Nokia software - and it worked!

thanks for any help people have given me here anyway

    1. Get 4.99 plan.
    2. Install drivers for USB cable for my Samsung S105
    3. Install EasyGPRS
    4. Add 'Samsung GPRS modem' - last step will add this to list of potential modems if you got to add a modem. It's not present without that.
    5. Use GPRS wizard to get connection.
    6. Configure IE for the GPRSWizard connection to use the proxy server 216.155.165.50 port 8080.
    7. Verify it works.
    8. Configure a normal windows network connection (create it manually) to connect to the *99#, username=anonymous, no password.
    9. Configure the IE proxy for that connection as above.
    10. Uninstall EasyGPRS.

I'm gonna quote this just in case anyone is still confused. It took me a good day and a half to figure this all out. Reason why is because my Pocket PC can't be configured to use a proxy, so I was bashing my head on the wall why this stuff doesn't work.

Well, now that I have a tablet in my car and an IR phone (s105) I am finally able to connect to the Internet anywhere in my car That's sweet. Now I need a cell phone mount to keep it next to the irda sensor of my tablet. The car charger is in the mail I love T-Mobile!

PS: the speed is quite decent! Certainly faster than a modem. I understand IRDA is limited to some 125 kbs, with interference and daylight I'd drop it to 65 kbs. That's still very decent. Google news loaded in 2 seconds, and completed loading in some 8 seconds with all the images and such. I also partially blame my tablet for the speed issue, it's only a P166

I know that T-Mobile To Go has free WAP access, but is the GPRS to use over modem connections free to use also?

And I'll go one more up on that.

Would I be able to get a GPRS modem, and put my T-mobile To Go sim card in it and get free gprs anywhere with T-mobile service?

    Peace,

    Got mine working!!!

Many thanks to all on this thread. This is the exact thing I have been looking for. I have tmobile with a 4.99/mo t-zones and a t610. I setup the bluetooth connection and got it working in about 20 minutes. I needed to use that proxy address but I am able to login and check my email (imap server port 143) and browse the web. It appears that I can actually login to secure https sites as well. Many kudos to those that figured this one out.
    Thanks

Guys, we're missing the big question. Can it be done with the prepaid SIM card? If so, free net for all...

What would be the best prepaid phone to get to work on a USB connection? I am willing to try this with the prepaid service. Anyone?
