Instructions on getting FREE wireless internet from T-Mobile using GPRS

Interesting case here. I have a Cingular phone that was never locked and I use t-mobile on it. The phone is a motorola v600. I could flex/flash the phone to t-mobile software but I kind of like how easy it is to access the browsers and just type in an address. Is there a way for me to test the WAP with the current software, or do I need t-mobile t-zones to test it? The cingular software allows you to create/edit my web sessions. The options include hompage, service type (http, https, wap, wap connect, wap secure), gateway ip (set to the cingular gateway), port, dns 1 dns 2, csd no, username, password, speed, line type (which was preset to ISDN) and GPRS APN(set to wap.cingular) then another username and password.

Of course I've tried just using the current settings but it doenst obtain a connection, obviously because im on the t-mobile network.

If anyone has any suggestions, i'd love to hear it.

well, my unlimited ( under 4.99 t-zones ) no longer works. I called them up and they NOW have a team just for bluetooth modem problems. They also stopped allowing internet access under t-zones.

So, it looks like I have to upgrade my account $19.99 ..... well, I really don't use it that much since I don't drive anywhere cuz of no job etc ....

damn, guess im **** out of luck, no reason for me to flex flash anything. I guess though i could just use it as a standard modem, doesnt that just use your regular minutes? Coulnt i use a standard dialup ISP. I never use all my minutes anyway. If you can do this, why pay $20 a month? My plan has free nights and weekends too, so could i use dialup unlimited at these times if i go through my own ISP? Plus you wouldnt be limited to port 80 or WAP

well, I am now a happy camper !!!!!

I just set Firefox connection to use a proxy server 216.155.165.50 port 8080

Works like a champ, using it right now. It seems faster than port 80.

At first I thought that I would need to change the IP every time that it gets a new #, but the above number is the one to use all the time.

problem with using port 8080 setup is that when you download a file, it looks like it comes through, but it's avtually only a 1K file. Had to connect using a 80211 yesterday to get some files.

It's still better than paying $20 more for internet

I think that it's FASTER than when using the old port 80..
probably because of less usage.

I get about 5 times a dialup speed, but not quite DSL, takes about 7-12 seconds to load main forums screen.

Okay. After a day of reading hear and the howardforums I am totally confused. I have done the search and reand the message, but like I said, it just made more confused.
Basically I have a 2 part question.
Is it STILL possible to have the laptop connect to the internet using TMOBILE with TZONE (2.99, 4.99 or 9.99)? If it is how is it done?

It is possible to get unlimited near 100% internet access with the 4.99 plan. Here's what I did:
1. Get 4.99 plan.
2. Install drivers for USB cable for my Samsung S105
3. Install EasyGPRS
4. Add 'Samsung GPRS modem' - last step will add this to list of potential modems if you got to add a modem. It's not present without that.
5. Use GPRS wizard to get connection.
6. Configure IE for the GPRSWizard connection to use the proxy server 216.155.165.50 port 8080.
7. Verify it works.
8. Configure a normal windows network connection (create it manually) to connect to the *99#, username=anonymous, no password.
9. Configure the IE proxy for that connection as above.
10. Uninstall EasyGPRS.

I saw 'near 100%' since I'm seeing some problems:
1. I can't access my corporate email via the exchange web server front end.
2. I can't seem to download files.
3. I can't connect to my.msn.com.

But general web browsing to normal web sites works just fine. I posted some stuff to www.mp3car.com earlier using my phone.
