Roaming w/antenna diversity (802.11b)

Hey, just wondering if there's any way to do wifi roaming with a pair of bi-quads (and maybe a pair of nic's)

i'm curious if anyone has written software for it or not, and if not how difficult would it be to code and build a system?

What do you mean by roaming? Like the cell phone term roaming? when ever you don't have a connection?

why two NICs? for masking your IP?

i mean roaming as in being able to hop from one AP to another seamlessly.

it wouldn't really be necessary to mask your IP considering that any IP assigned by the access point would probably be internal.. your IP would be masked by the fact that you're using someone else's connection.

basically two nic's and two antennas would be necessary because it's not possible for one nic to transfer data AND search for access points at the same time. (from what i know)

you would have one nic scanning for useful access points and refreshing it's IP address (so it would never need to be manually renewed). the other nic would be connected to an access point transfering data. You would be able to drive around and automatically surf access points.
