Are those USB mini wifi adapters that look like the USB memory sticks any good? I don't really care about the size, it's performance I want. What's a good 802.11g usb wifi adapter? Any reccomendations?

I use a buffalo USB2-54G and one of their Omni aerials.
Works great.

May I suggest the NL-3054UB5 from www.engeniustech.com (works in IE only.)
Engenius makes 802.11x cards that have the maximum transmit power allowed by law. They're also extremely sensitive cards. I'm using an 802.11a/b/g card from them right now in my laptop, and I love it.

hmmmm... I have a buffalo 802.11g router, I wonder if I can set it to ad hoc mode and just plug it into the ethernet port on my computer? I'm using it as an access point right now, I had to reconfigure the default gateway and DHCP server but it was no big deal.
Where can I get my hands on the NL-3054UB5? about how much $ is it?
you'll have to call them and ask for a quote.
I like my USB netgear adapter, I have used some of those small USB ones before, they are ok, got pretty good signal strength with them. I like them better then the netgear PCMCIA cards.
